Welcome back, all, to the new school year! This is a day that so many have worked to prepare for, and for these efforts we are eternally grateful. The world is still grappling with an invisible, deadly enemy, and we are all still trying to understand how to live with the threat posed by a virus. We have come so far since we were last on campus, and while this time is not without worry, it is an opportunity for great hope! The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the interconnected nature of our world – and that no one is safe until everyone is safe. The world is changing, it is healing, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Pollution is being cleared off, the equilibrium is being restored, and at the end of this, the world will heal. There are so many lessons of humanity to take on from there: racism, health, love and how to embrace uncertainty and make something out of it! People around the world are showing acts of humanity, inspiring hope for a better future.
We are blessed with a strong SJE community, and I know that we will face the days ahead with creativity, compassion, and care. As the Parents’ Club pivots to provide support to the SJE community, students, and teachers alike, know that we are working hard to make this school year one we will all SAFELY remember with fun infused along the way. Your Parents' Club Board and I are excited about the days ahead. TOGETHER we will further strengthen and support one another!
