Lower Division News

Dear Parents,

With the school year winding down in rapid fashion, it is remarkable to reflect on what has been a successful and wonderful year while also looking ahead to all of the wonder and excitement of what lies ahead next year.  And as we enter the last week of the school year, I am grateful for our amazing students, dedicated parents, diligent faculty and staff in making this year tremendous.

Important Upcoming Dates and Information

May 12th - Mother / Son NERF Battle on the Deck (UPDATED TIME - 5:00PM - 7:00PM)

May 13th - Dress Down Day at the Lower Division 

May 16th - First Grade Field Trip to the Tampa Zoo

May 19th - Lower Division Awards Assembly (8:00AM in the Church) 

May 16th - 20th - Review Week for Fourth Grade Exams

May 23rd - 24th - Final Exams for Fourth Grade

May 25th - Last Day of School Year Celebration - Half Day - No ASP - Dismissal Begins at 11:45AM

 

Dress Down Day, Friday, May 13th

As one of Cadence Creely’s important announcements last Friday as ‘Mr. Salzer for the Day’, she decreed by fiat that this week all Lower Division students would be able to enjoy a special dress down day.  This day is occurring this week on Friday, May 13th.  Students may come to school dressed as their favorite animal or dressed in the colors of their favorite animal.  Students may also wear any (non uniform) bottom if ‘dressing down’  

In lieu of animal attire, students may also come in SJE spirit wear or their regular uniform.  SJE uniform bottoms please if not dressing down. 

 

Awards Assembly General Information, Thursday, May 19th

As was posted within Eagle’s Wings over the past handful of weeks, the Lower Division Awards Assembly is taking place next Thursday, May 19th, beginning at 8:00AM within the church.  This event is open to any parent who would like to attend.  However, please understand that while all are invited, not every student within the Lower Division will be receiving an award during the Awards Assembly.  Emails have been sent directly and specifically to the parents of award recipients so that they are aware that their child will be receiving an award next Thursday.  If you did not receive an email notification, you are still welcome to join next Thursday, but please and kindly be aware of the aforementioned details.     

And within what has been a truly remarkable year, I remain continually proud of all students within the Lower Division.  Their steadfast enthusiasm, diligence, and commitment to making every day memorable has been awe inspiring.  I extend my deepest gratitude to the entire student body for their dedication during this tremendous school year.

 

Fourth Grade Review Week and Final Exams

An email will be sent directly with more information and details about review week and final examinations for the fourth grade.  However, for parents of fourth grade students, please be aware that next week will be ‘review week’ for all fourth grade students in preparation for final exams. Students in the fourth grade will take a Reading Exam, Vocabulary Exam, Grammar Exam, and Math Exam.  Please be on the lookout for more information coming within a specific email.  

 

Mother / Son NERF Battle - Today - (UPDATED TIME  - 5:00PM - 7:00PM)

A final reminder that the NERF Battle takes place today at the Lower Division.  Please enter through the main gates and come up to the deck for all of the action and fun!
