• Financial aid is one way in which we support families drawn to the mission of the school.
• Our school provides financial aid on a need basis.
• Our school determines need through a process that is equitable for all applicants.
• Our school does not manipulate that process to the advantage of one applicant over another.
• Our school does not use financial aid to compete with other private-independent schools.

St. John’s uses FACTS, an independent needs-assessment program used by thousands of schools nationwide, to do the financial need analysis for families applying for financial aid.  The FACTS application is available online and it and the necessary supporting documentation is due to FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment no later than January 15. Since grant funds may be limited, it is best to submit your application as soon as you can. Applicants can apply online beginning November 1 by clicking here. Once an online application has been completed, the following information will need to be sent to FACTS to complete the application process:

• Copies of your most recent Form 1040 Federal Income Tax Return including all schedules and copies of your W-2 form(s).  If either parent is a shareholder in an S Corporation or a partner in a Partnership the appropriate Schedule K-1 must be provided.
• If dependents of the applicant attend tuition-charging institutions, please provide directly to the St. John’s Financial Aid Committee the following information:
  • For dependents who attended college prior to 2019, the IRS 1098-T form (Tuition Statement) or financial aid award letter (if appropriate).
  • For dependents matriculating to college for the first time in 2018, a copy of the acceptance letter and financial aid award letter (if appropriate).
  • For pre-college age dependents, a copy of their enrollment document and financial aid award letter (if appropriate) from the tuition-charging institution.

In making recommendations, the Financial Aid Committee will consider the following:

• The family’s needs, as identified by FACTS.
• The extent to which a family has already mobilized its own financial resources for paying tuition.
• The funds available for aid.
• The individual circumstances affecting the family’s request for assistance

In the matter of divorce or separation of parents, the Financial Aid Committee will consider the income and assets of both natural parents, if living, before making an award. If either parent has remarried, we will consider also the income and assets of the stepparent.  Note, it is required that the custodial and non-custodial parents must each complete an application to FACTS. If this information is not provided, the Financial Aid Committee will be unable to consider awarding a grant to the student.

St. John's provides tuition assistance to as many qualified students as possible who could not otherwise afford a St. John's education. All financial aid awards are based exclusively on demonstrated financial need. St. John's does not offer merit or athletic scholarships.

Students applying for K(4) through Grade 8 may apply for tuition assistance.

No. Tuition assistance and Admission applications must be submitted by their respective deadlines. Financial Aid requests without an admission application will not be processed.

No. Family financial situations can change from year-to-year, therefore tuition assistance is offered of an annual basis. Families must reapply for aid each year their child attends St. John's. Aid is awarded based on a family’s demonstrated need and available funds. Meeting published deadlines is paramount to ensure consideration.

If a family applied for tuition assistance for the previous school year, only the most recent tax year documents are required. All other requirements, including deadlines, are the same for all families, new or returning.

St. John's provides a comprehensive tuition, therefore, only the non-included fees listed below are the responsibility of the family.

St. John's comprehensive tuition includes:

• School supplies
• Textbooks
• Lunch
• School-issued 1:1 iPads
• Field trips
• Middle Division Athletics Program
• Yearbooks
• Graduation events

Tuition does not include:

• After School Care and/or Programs
• Middle Division PE uniforms
• Class trips (travel-based trips)

No. Tuition assistance is available based exclusively on demonstrated need.
