Our Alumni

St. John's alumni have, for more than 60 years, graduated to become the leaders of Tampa and beyond.  From state House representatives to legal counsel for the U.S. House, from bank presidents to teachers to authors to Marines to ministers, our alums have done it all. 

Our Form X graduates enter some of the finest secondary institutions in the area and beyond. In 2012-2013, their choices were as follows:

Because St. John's graduates go on to the finest secondary schools in our area, this leads them to be accepted to the finest colleges and universities in the nation, which include, to name just a few: Vanderbilt, Yale, Duke, Smith, Washington and Lee, Northwestern, and Harvard.

Alumni also send their children to St. John's.  More than a few current students are second-generation Eagles, a testament to the continued growth in excellence of the School.  There are many good school choices in the Tampa area, and the fact that St. John's remains an alumni top choice speaks highly of the academic experience here.

Four by Four

Back in the 1970s, four brothers graduated from St. John's; John (1974), Steven (1975), Grant (1977), and Greg Hearing (1978). Dolores Hearing, their mother, worked as the St. John's Church secretary for 25 years. Now Greg's four sons attend St. John's; Nicholas (2013), Zachary (2016), Noah (2017), and Caden Hearing (2019). A Love Story

These two kids met in second grade at St. John’s back in 1967 and graduated together from the sixth grade in 1971. Since there were two sections at each grade, they were in the same section only once, fifth grade. Meet John and Catherine (Barrs) Marston.

The Nifty Fifties

Back in the 1950s, St. John's had fewer students enrolled at the school, about 10 or so in a graduating class. Back in the '50s, particularly 1958, 1959, and 1960, St. John's graduated its students from the ninth grade. Meet Sally Thompson, who graduated from the St. John's ninth grade in 1958.
